Ahoy hoy!

I saw The Simpsons Movie on Sunday and laughed harder than I've ever laughed at a film before. I'm a bit of a die-hard Simpsons fan so I'm probably biased but if you like The Simpsons and haven't seen it yet you're missing out! I moved house recently so it's been a while between updates but I'm kinda settled in (ish) and I now officially have an entire room for props and wardrobe... it's bliss. What isn't bliss, however, is putting together Ikea furniture minus a hammer, screwdriver and an IV drip of tranqs to prevent me skitzing out, smashing it all and declaring a holy war on the Swedes.

I also successfully managed to finish Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows before some turd-burgler ruined the ending for me. I now have an extreme case of Reader's Block though... I have no idea what to read now. Maybe I'll finally finish Paradise Lost. Anyone with an idea for good religious-themed books feel free to email atrophy at atrophy dot com dot au - Books in the strain of Inferno and Memnoch, The Devil are full of win and awesomes and i'm trying to find more.

Okay so for any of you interested in seeing me in print, I'm on page 2, 4, 21, 24, 30, 31, 32, 33 & 35 of Issue 15 of Fiend Magazine which is out now in all your local gothy shops and open-minded newsagents. Truth be told, I'm a bit grossed out by my being on 9 pages of a magazine... I'm just happy I got to work as a wardrobe stylist on my first fashion shoot! That was the best part- That and hanging out with my friend Rebecca Holack who most excellently performed her makeup art on myself and the lovely Mishella Vendetta for the shoot. Plus the X-Lox girls and their extremely "Pfft, fuck that gravity business" stance on hair styling.

Something else I wanted to mention is that Lisa Alisa is awesome and I love her. And I found a tinsmith in Mexico who makes amazing crucifixes and sacred hearts and sells them ridiculously cheaply so deranged icon collectors like yours truly can blow their pay on painted tin on a monthly basis. That is all :)

Up now in the Showcase gallery is a picture of your humble narrator eating some pearls. Enjoy!

Hi everyone :)

The Fiend shoot was awesome - we had so much fun and Mishella Vendetta did really well. I can't wait until the magazine is released so I can use all the pictures! The X-lox girls totally blew me away and Bec Holack was on fire as per usual. I love working with her, she's my favourite makeup artist :)

This week I've been honing my gore and SFX makeup skills in preparation for Splatterball - I'm so exited! I love any excuse to get all wildly dressed up and better yet - cover myself in blood hahaha! My poor housemates keep bumping into me with bruises and split lips and slit wrists, I feel kinda bad. Splatterball is this Saturday 23rd at Inflation nightclub and it's looking like a wicked night out. See you there!

In other news there are 2 new pics up in the showcase gallery.

Holy mother of god, I am completely shocked at my website stats for last month (no seriously- which one of you was hitting "refresh" a squillion times haha?!). I am absolutely blown away, thank you all so much for the support!

Nothing much to report, I'm flying up to Sydney next weekend to shoot a 6-page fashion spread for Fiend Magazine with the lovely Mishella Vendetta & my most favouritest Brent Leideritz, it will feature in the next issue which I think comes out in July. It will be featuring Dragon's Blood Creations, X-lox, Scarlet Zaphara Jewellery and perhaps a little surprise. I won't say no mores nope nope!

In other news, there are 2 new shots up in the showcase gallery, one of me doing my best impression of Colombia from the Rocky Horror Picture Show and another featuring a very pretty curtain, and um... yeah haha!

Enjoy!

20 May 2007

Hi everyone!

I finished my contract at Opera Australia last week and it made me sad :( I'm going to miss that place! It was really nice though because my colleagues bought me this great big disgustingly good profiterole cake from David Jones and one of them even told me that the office will be ugly without me there haha!

It's good however because I'm back freelancing working on the Burlesque Ball and a play called Dark Angels so I'm going to be busy but still have alot more time on my hands for shoots and generally being Atrophy.

On that note, we're currently looking for aerial/pole performers for the Melbourne Burlesque Ball in November so if you are one & you live in Melbourne please drop me a line at atrophy@burlesqueball.com

15 May 2007

Hey chickadees,

Not much has been happening in the world of Atrophy since the last update, mostly working alot and chilling out with my friends which is doing me damn right for the moment since I miss them when I'm busy.

I'll be putting a whole bunch of stuff on ebay sometime this week so stay tuned for your chance to grab some cool props and clothes of mine - there will be corsets, latex, shoes and other awesome odds and ends that I simply don't have space for in my wardrobe.

I'm in the current issue of LOTL magazine, in an ad for Dragon's Blood Creations.

In other news there are 6 new shots up in the showcase gallery for your viewing pleasure, one set featuring my pride and joy, an antique corset circa 1905 and my favourite gloves. The other set features my wife Zowee and I being right dickheads in an explosion of colour a la David Lachapelle and I am LOVING the juxtaposition between the two sets :)

That's all folks!

08 May 2007

My name is Atrophy hey hello! Welcome to my very own show! (okay site, whatever)

I've been a bit quiet on the shooting front - I shot with Smick Photography on the weekend and I'm shooting a calendar this week with Koukei. Can't remember whether or not I'm still supposed to be quiet about it but let's just say damn I love my job.

In any event everyone should go and listen to Electric Mary. I've been to a couple of their gigs recently and holy crap they rock.

So there are 4 new shots up in the showcase gallery- my first time shooting with latex and certainly not the last!

30 April 2007

I was shooting like crazy last week and i'm so far really happy with what i'm seeing. I drank entirely too much at my wife's birthday party - We went to karaoke and I spanned across four different strains of alcohol and exceeded 15 standard drinks, and in doing so successfully managed to outdo my sister's Jagerbomb record. I think I drunk my way through the hangover because somehow I didn't manage to get one. In an effort to replenish a bit of dignity and class after ending up utterly wasted singing Rod Stewart's "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?" at karaoke I went to see not one, but 2 operas later in the week- Dvorak's Rusalka and Rossini's The Barber of Seville. Interestingly enough I cried like a baby all through Rusalka which is wierd because even though the storyline is just tragedy after tragedy I'm really not the crying type of girl.

In other news from Atrophyland there are 2 pictures of me in the current issue of Feind magazine (The one with Evanescence on the cover), one shot is for a review of Circa Nocturna and the other is a full-page ad for Dragon's Blood Creations. There are also 6 new pictures up in the Showcase gallery, and i'm debating whether or not it's a good idea to spend the rest of the day at work with pencils stuck up my nose.

18 March 2007

Added 3 new sets today from my psycho-weekend of a collaborative effort with Brent Leideritz.

The shot I did for Assassinus Jewellery is currently plastered all over Melbourne! Dark Events and I struck a deal for the posters for Cyberball 7 and now I'm all over the city haha!

I'll be making an appearance- Cyberball 7 will be held at Velour Nightclub- 121 Flinders Lane, Melbourne on Easter sunday the 8th of April. Dress code is cyber, fetish, pvc, uniforms, zentai etc etc. Hope to see you there!

08 March 2007

What a night! Circa Nocturna at L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival was absolutely epic. Despite a last-second drop out of one of the models and two others involved in a car crash on the way, the night ran completely smoothly and without a hiccup. Everyone looked completely decadent and huge props to Matt and Cat for plowing on despite their fender bender. I was absolutely floored by the sheer effort involved, some of the costumes, hair and makeup were absolutely incredible! Evil Bec saved the day with less than 24 hours notice before we were due onstage and rocked the catwalk like nobody's business, Nicole was an absolute princess and Harmony not only pwned the n00bs, she whipped them! Personally, I wanted to have sex with my outfit - all the feathers and flounce made me very happy in the pants. I could NOT believe the noise that went on when I was onstage! Any nerves I had waiting in the wings completely evaporated the second I stepped out by all the cheering. Thank you all SO much, you made me feel beautiful, despite the awful grimace I was sporting on the catwalk - I attribute that to trying to force back a grin that would have split my face in half had I not! I had so much fun :)

Brent Leideritz and I shot over the weekend as he was over from Adelaide as the official photographer for CN, and I really do think as a team we completely outdid ourselves. The proof is here! (The best part is, we did about 10, completely different shoots, over two days so there are heaps more to come!) In other news, while at work on Friday and hunting for relevant press material in The Age newspaper, I stumbled into a picture of myself with a short article on CN. I just thought it was cool that I found myself in the paper :)

04 February 2007

I'm slowly getting settled in in Melbourne for the moment and I'm not shooting much at this point, since life has taken priority for a while.

In the mean time, I'll be walking as 'Featured Model' for Dragon's Blood at Circa Nocturna, which is an alternative fashion show as part of L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival. Tickets are $15 and are available from Peril Underground, Gown Of Thorns and Vicious Venus. In other news, I'm on the promo poster for the Circa Nocturna fashion show and I'm in the official L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival program. This is the picture they used.

13 January 2007

Hi everyone!

I'm busy packing for my move to Melbourne (monday!) which I'm very exited about but I had time to squeeze a quick update in today.

3 new pics by the wonderful Winter Simbelmyne with Rebecca Holack(!) on MUA. I absolutely ADORE these shots! Also two gorgeous shots by Sarah Osmo and one by Brent Leideritz.

Back to packing I go!

28 December 2006

Uploaded 5 new pics today, two by Mastertouch, two by Winter Simbelmyne and one by Brent Leideritz.

I found an absolutely amazing gothic make-up artist in Sydney who I'll be working with soon. It takes alot for me to be impressed by goth makeup, and she really took the cake here! You can see her art here.

I just found out I'll be performing in a choir, singing Verdi's "Requiem" at the Sydney Opera House in June. It's been so long since I sung there, and honestly, nothing has ever topped that experience. Last time I did was officially the high point of my existence :)

16 December 2006

Sorry it's been so long between updates, I've been so busy! I just returned back from Melbourne and I had the best time :) I'll be moving there early January.

I've uploaded 3 new pics to the 'Showcase' gallery.

I've got quite a few shoots this week so stay tuned - although I might still be a little slow on the update front over crapmas and the new year - regular programming will return shortly!

22 November 2006

What's your favourite food?

Pasta? chicken? candy?

There are people in third world countries who don't even have any. Go to the Make Poverty History website, sign up, and then go buy yourself a white wristband from HMV and show you actually give a shit. signing up and sending a message to your local MP takes less than five minutes of your day, but that one extra message ALWAYS makes a difference.

Hey, if wearing a white wristband and showing you're conscientious about people other than yourself doesn't suit your style, just sign up. no-one needs to know.

12 November 2006

I've been really busy with study with 2 weeks left of my course but managed to squeeze a quick update in :) There are now 12 little banners that I made a while ago in the 'Promote' page, plus 4 new photos in the 'Showcase' gallery.

The new Dragon's Blood Creations website is up (albeit not quite finished), its quite heavy in the Atrophy department, go have a look and buy their divine corsets! I dont know if I've been on the rant about how wonderful their corsets are yet, but my god they are good!

I attended the Sydney Burlesque Ball last week as a birthday celebration and had so much fun! I wore a wonderful custom corset by Wendy from Dragon's Blood with a matching top hat by Terry and won the best dressed competition, pictures can be seen here, additional candid photos can be seen here.

I'm also the new face of The Ruby Review, which is a monthly burlesque Review starting in Sydney 2007

Wow this wasn't such a quick update after all!

02 November 2006

Added two new sets today, and changed the front page around. My journal now has its own special little page! I'm also now a member of Wicked Talent, which I'm very happy about.

Also, to everyone who wished me a happy birthday, thankyou so much! I'm nearing the end of my course now so I'll probably be a lot less active and may take longer to respond to people, but that's only for the next month.

29 October 2006

I AM SELLING CLOTHES ON EBAY!!!11!!11@21!!

27 October 2006

Things have been pretty hectic this week, but there's 3 new sets up by Brent Leideritz in the showcase gallery from my trip to Adelaide.

I had a look at the stats for my site for the first month it's been up, and they absolutely blew my mind! Thanks so much everyone for the support! :D

17 October 2006

Added 2 new pics by Scott Brown and 3 new pics from my trip to Adelaide by Brent Leideritz... ohhh the hair!!

I got a fright the other day and realised its only 2 weeks until my 19th. Everyone wants to know what I want but I have no idea. I'm pretty sure I have everything I want anyway... I could be a real dickhead and tell people I want world peace for my birthday then watch them roll their eyes and run around like headless chickens trying to figure out what to get me, but that would be too predictable of me.

12 October 2006

I'm back home from Adelaide and I'm scared of my fridge... it smells really funky. Right now I feel akin to a psycho kitten chasing a moth for 3 hours then curling up and falling dead asleep in some really awkward place, like a doorway waiting to get tripped over... except this kitten only just got up and has laundry to do and essays to write. Joyful! I swear its a hundred and fifty degrees outside and I wish to god I had a balcony in my apartment because then the heat could go to a good use, like drying my laundry!

I hit the motherload store yesterday in terms of my neverending hunt for iconography, like prison-issue rosary beads for 50c each? HELL yes! I bought six of them. It was just one of those absolutely enormous stores packed with Jesus stuff and crucifixes and paintings of the virgin and those little plastic bottles shaped like Jesus for holy water and mobile phone lanyards that had "W.W.J.D.?" on them and ohhhh it was so good I had to seriously contain myself.

In other news from Atrophyland there's two new pics from Sarah Osmo up in the Showcase gallery :)

06 October 2006

I'm having so much fun here in Adelaide. Monday I had my hair piled up and teased almost twice the height of my forehead for a shoot, and I spent Tuesday watching midget porn and eating raisin toast while making a fascinator for the shoot last night. I went shopping today and bought some nice summer dresses, given its heating up and I've lost a stack of weight since last summer so my wardrobe from last summer is all too big!

Right now I'm watching Snow White and just finished raiding Brent's computer and found a stack of pictures that he took that needed to be put up, so they're in the showcase gallery now.

03 October 2006

Added two new photos by Scott Brown today, which are a very different look for me, plus it was a location shoot which made it all the more challenging given I usually do studio shoots. Check them out here!

I'm heading off to Adelaide tomorrow, probably attacking all the cute stores they have down there and blowing out my pay haha! Aside from that I have at least 5 shoots lined up while I'm there (given that Brent and I usually go nuts and shoot til 3 in the morning) which should be good fun, plus shooting that aforementioned backlog of clothes for Dragon's Blood.

01 October 2006

A huge thankyou goes out to Apnea today, for including a link to my site on apneatic.com! Her site is well worth checking out, and even more so worth joining. The quality of both the photography and her modelling is very impressive and worth every cent!

Some more holes in sets were filled today, photoset 15 and photoset 18, and a new set from Brent Leideritz is up here with me dicking around and attempting modern cheesecake haha!

More info has been added to the atrophy and contact page (stats and stuff), and my links page is now up. If you would like to be included on my links page fill out the contact form with details of your modelling/photography/label/whatever!

29 September 2006

Added some new shots today, one from the gorgeous Sarah Osmo and a set from Brent Leideritz (who is just eternally wonderful so theres no point mentioning it :). Also patched up some more holes in the showcase section, there were a few sets missing photos. There were a few minor tweaks on the site that needed fixing, but thats all better now.

Started spring holidays today: *ahem* holidays my ASS I have so much work to do. Flying to Adelaide next week for more photo fun with Brent and a gorgeous new model named Amanda, very excited. I have this ever growing backlog of clothes to shoot for Dragon's Blood which I really need to get around to doing. Like badly.

22 September 2006

So my site is finally finished (for the moment anyway!) This is where my journal goes, even though I'm on myspace and LJ anyway, but this one is all to myself! There will be a prints page coming up soon, and a links page too. Drop me a line on the "Contact" page if you'd like to be included.

My best friend is up from Melbourne at the moment and I'm a very happy camper. I'm shooting with her in the studio tomorrow which should be absolutely wicked fun :) We're going to Luna Park with my boyfriend tonight to drink beer and throw up on the rides and other super cool stuff like that! Also to suss out how to shoot on the Rotor, which for all you non-Sydney people is an awesome 1940's spinny Gravitron type ride akin to being dumped in a washing machine.

I had a huge exam today, for my literature class on T.S. Eliot, and considering how phenomenally crap my skills in exam situations are I think I did really well, but dear fucking lord if I write the phrase "objective-corellative) one more time i will shoot myself in the head.

Anyway my friend is destroying stuff on my desk so I'm off to restrain her now ;)

And welcome again to my site!
